Delayed Deceleration Approach Noise Impact and Modeling Validation

A validation methodology and evaluation of delayed deceleration approach performance noise-impact modeling using noise measurements radar data are presented. Advanced procedures such as approaches, where aircraft maintain higher speeds therefore remain cleanly configured at lower thrust levels for longer flight periods, can be used airport abatement. Delayed approaches have been shown in to offer reductions before the stabilization point compared that decelerate early. The is demonstrated through monitoring operational with varying velocity profiles from Boeing 737, Airbus A320, Embraer E190 flights comparing modeled sound exposure these available ground-noise-monitor two major airports. Thrust was based on weight predicted final speed assumed configuration.
